Hi, I need to liquidate my husband's vintage collection (a lot of stuff) and could use some help with valuation. I have interest right now in two different sets but am having trouble coming up with prices. Is this a good place to ask for help? Thank you!1960 Slingerland Radio King 5 drum set in white marine pearl - 22", 16", 13", 12"(add on but exact match), 5 1/2x14 matching one-ply maple super strainer 8 lug snare. Everything in excellent to mint condition and includes tom mount, one bass drum mounted cymbal stand, Tempo bass pedal and hi hat hardware.1964 Ludwig Classic 6 drum set in pink champagne sparkle - 22", 16", 14",13", 12", 5x14 matching Pioneer 6 lug snare. White interiors with nickel hardware. Excellent condition including original and complete hardware set up (Atlas hi hat, SpeedKing pedal.) Photos in post that follows....

Caren,

I'm going to throw my hat in the rings with what you are asking:

The Slingerland kit looks and sounds to be in great condition, as do the Ludwigs. Common sizes and colrs keep the values from being out of this world. However, in excellent condition, I'd say the Slingerland RK kit would be in the $1300-1600 range to the right buyer. The Ludwigs a little less, perhaps $1100-1200 with the Pioneer snare.

Please keep us posted, a lot of us are drooling here.

PM sent also.

Thanks and Good Luck!Cool1

Caren- I PM'd you (personal message) please check your inbox. I m interested in the '57 WFL kit. That would be a birthyear kit for me. Would it be possible to get some pics? Also of the acrolite you mentioned and any wood snares 6.5 or deeper. If it's easier you can email me at dan@dansidorphotography.com. Thank you.

Sorry no School Fest snares - in Ludwig I have a '67 Acrolite AOA, '64 Downbeat WMP, '64, Supraphonic COA, '60 Supraphonic COB and three Silver Anniversary snares from '36 and a '24 Super Ludwig NOB and a 90s supra phonic bronze.....

Caren,

Sorry to hear that you have to liquidate this beautiful collection, as the reasons for most liquidations are usually due to necessity or unpleasant circumstances, but it sounds like you have a very good working knowledge of what you own there. It's good that you checked in with the experts here before listing the drums on CL or elsewhere. Between the experts' advice and your knowledge of your inventory, no one should be able to take advantage of you or your situation. Best of luck to you with your sales.
