First of all Welcome!

Next, you have a very nice, desirable set of Rogers in a very desirable wrap. It is called, by most drum companies, Grey Agate Pearl, or Black Agate Pearl. It is complete with all Swivo hardware, it appears. I am by far the least of the experts, and especially not where Rogers are concerned, but I can tell you this is a very nice, and looks like it is all original and clean.

The snare is a Dyna Sonic, a chrome over brass, or COB shell. The rail on the bottom allows the snares to be moved up and down in a "square movement", like a paralell strainer, lifting the wires all at once. There is a great article here somewhere about te best method for tuning them. It is one of the best snares around, and another part of the movement of the wires in this system is that it uses far less tension on the wires themselves, therefore not over-stretching thhem. It also gives crisper, more articulate response. Very sensitive.

Wen I locate the post, I'll get it linked for you.

Though your drums are not from the prime Rogers era (1960s), they appear to be in suberb condition and, as noted previously, feature a very desirable wrap - catalogued as Black Onyx.

All things considered, worth maybe $1500 to the right person. Unfortunately, the market is soft these days - good time to buy, not so good time to sell.

Considering the mixed labels, I'd venture to guess 1972ish.

One of the ways to figure out the kit name is to look at the catalogue scans here,http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/rogers_drumsets.html in general the kits were differentiated by the #, types, and position of mounts on the kick drum. There are special order kits floating around where the mounting hardware and positioning of such was done either at the factory or at the dealer. Also a lot of the named kits had extras and or switchable options.
