My main reason for getting in to drum collecting is for precisely the reason behind this thread. In my active gigging years, I owned the drum sets that appealed to me. The brands I played were Slingerland, Gretsch, Rogers, Camco, and Flat Jacks. I always gravitated back to the Slingerlands after playing one of the other brands. When I started to collect vintage drums, I tried Ludwigs which I always avoided because too many other drummers played them. I "discovered" Leedy by accident, and fell in love with my favorite Slingies with those beautiful art deco lugs (SlingerLeedy of course). I acquired a Leedy & Ludwig set that was as cool as some Radio Kings of the same time period. About two years ago, I learned about Walberg & Auge. I have since acquired three sets of them that help satisfy some Gretsch and Rogers urges through the incorporation of both of those brands in a W&A set. The only yearning I have is for sentimental reasons. My first drum set was a three piece Gretsch mid 50's round badge set in two tone Duco Cameo Coral and Charcoal Gray. I would love to find a set of those--preferably with a floor tom this time.

BTW- For me, it's Rogers. A nice Red Onyx or Champagne kit is on my Bucket List.

Hey, JR:
Good to see you here. I got yer Champagne Rogahhhs kit right here!
I really do. The set is estimated to be 1963 by serial numbers, definitely Cleveland on the tags. Sizes are 14x20, 8x12, 16x16,and matching Luxor snare that is a couple years earlier from it's serial number. If or when I down size, this set would be hard to part with.
well i have to say my dream kit that i lusted over is the all mighty and powerful
"blue Noter" but i do have my dream holly wood champagne set and surprise my new yorker im happy love to have that stool though IT JUST TOOL COOL

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
Hi, J.R. Good to see you and have your expertise with us.

Oh, I forgot I have always lusted for a Rogers or Slingerland in Mardi Gras. I also like those 60s Ajax sets in that burgundy oyster pearl finish.
This post started with a Premier Set. I recently updated the Premier catalog section of the main vintage drum guide.
Look at the last catalog The Premier Clubs.
They had a white wrap with tri-band Aqua centers.
Is that plastic hardware?
