Looks like an old B&B Rogers snare. Do the grains run vertical or horizontal on the interior? If they are horizontal I would guess 50's Rogers. If vertical M.I.J. but looks like legit Rogers to me.

in interior is painted in a Flat Gray paint. not sure if that is factory or not? From what i can tell the grain is horizontal. a few lugs are busted up and i have been trying to find replacement lugs to get the snare back on the road.
restored, is this snare of any value?
you need to PM member Gary N
He knows more about this era of Rogers than anyone except the actual assembler of the drum at the factory. And, its quite possible, he knows more about it than that guy.
It does look like Rogers. Gary can confirm that and give you information on how to go about a restoration.
these are the closest drum i could find that resembles the wrap and plain smooth lugs...

i will look into that, thanks!
Looks like 50's Rogers with the "flat" style Bread and Butter lugs. Look for tiny nail holes on the side where a Rogers script badge might have been attached. The vent hole grommet looks original, so it didn't have the Rogers Eagle badge.
The lugs had odd ball hole spacing that only came on the Bread and Butter lugs. So you'll need to find uncracked used replacements, buy the new custom after-market lugs ($30 each) or open up the holes on the shell to accept the newer Beavertail lugs. The later would hurt the value of the drum though.

another question....
the lugs on this black pearl drum i have are completely smooth. No ridges at all...
you had mentioned the "bread and butter lugs"....
are the lugs on my drum older or newer than the bread and butter lugs (which feature 1 ridge across the top)?
attatched is a pic of my lugs and a picture of bread and butter lugs
thanks for the help!

I think they are older and only used for a short period. Others will know and chime in.
