Mystery Drums. Can You Identify? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Loading...

Was wondering if anyone can help identify either of these two snare drums. Curious to know what the brand of tube lugs are on the blue drum and what is the strainer (or left of the strainer).

The black drum is actually some type of vista drum that has been painted on the inside. I havent ever seen lugs like this before. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

Curtis

The black drum is an early Zickos. Good luck in finding parts. They require their own type of tension hoop.

For the blue, tube lug drum, a picture of the inside shell construction might offer some clues.

In my Ludwig 1932 catalog there are several marching drums w/ a 12" depth that use large tube lugs. The bottom hoop & claws on your blue drum look like Ludwigs. You never did give your drum dimensions. Is the depth 12" ? That would indicate that your drum may be a modified marching snare from this time period.
