He is trying to get you to trade your Rogers kit for a MIJ kit of his. He is just kidding ya.

Nice kit. Looks like someone added a mount or two or three to the bass drum, but with a little TLC it is going to be sweet.

Keep us up to date with the restoration process!

so what exactly are you telling me here? you want to trade? i really dont see whats so wrong with them besides needing some TLC. the wrap seems to be in pretty solid shape, the only thing that really needs help is the bass drum...

Yes, I would love to trade, those are great drums. I am only really poking fun. We rib each other here as much as help each other. I would love to have a Rogers kit. I will be of as much assistance to you as you find you need, as far as the restoration goes.

If you are going to take them apart and clean them, DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL on your chrome. The only place steel wool is advisable is on the tension rods, I use it to clean the threads deeply. I use a screw gun, proper sized bit, steel wool and mineral oil, baby oil because it is cheaper than 3-in-1, and virtually the same thing. I also use a spin brush detailer and TurtleWax rubbing compound to polish away all those years of grime, nicotine and beer on the lugs, hoops and other chrome....a cheap spinning toothbrush, the type you find at Mal-Mart for around 5 bucks works just fine, although the detailer has multiple heads for different duties. Let us know if we can be of assistance, or if you need more ideas. I really did not mean to hurt your feelings or anything. Just funnin'!!!;)

lol i figured that was the case its all good. is there any way i can patch the holes in the bass drum and blend them? i would never use steel wool for that stuff i know what it does, bad news... lol i definetely appreciate the help with restoring it. would ploughman be the one to ask about what year and stuff these are? i think from what i read they are 69 or 70. i will definetely be asking questions as i go, ive had em long enough, its time to make em pretty!Walking

as far as whatever is on the bass drum wrap, is there anything i can use to get that s*@t off of there without hurting the wrap? also i would really like to get a rogers snare what would be the best route? i hear the dynasonic i think it is, is the one to be getting

You could just throw some plates over the mount holes that you don't wanna use....

lol i figured that was the case its all good. is there anything i can do to make it look better with having some of those extra holes any way to patch them and blend em in? i would never use steel wool for that stuff i know what it does, bad news... lol i definetely appreciate the help with restoring it. would ploughman be the one to ask about what year and stuff these are? i think from what i read they are 69 or 70. i will definetely be asking questions as i go, ive had em long enough, its time to make em pretty!Walking

First, I would wiat until the Rogers guys (yep, Plough is the MAN) chime in to see what the missing parts could be and try to get them back in place. Looks like parts of the knobbies are missing for what appear to be cymbal mounts. Now, as for the cleaning, it is beast to strip the hardware, grab a couple of double 12 packs, and settle in for a long weekend of scrubbing parts and polishing chrome. What, may I ask, is the black "goo" on the bass? If it is tape residue, you can use a few things, althiugh an orange based safe stripping compound is where I would start. You can use Goof Off, but I would try some orange cleaner first...it smells much better.

Anyway, I am at your service.

And should you dcide the task is just too daunting, the trade is always open.....:Santa:

I only had time to mess with the rack tom tonight. i think it looks 100% better than it did, some minor pitting which i figure is normal since they are 40 years old. what do you guys think?
