My "new" Slingy 14x14 FT!

Happy New Year everyone!

I just hit the "BIN" button on this gorgeous 1967 Slingerland 14x14 floor tom in Sparkling Silver Pearl. The serial number is in the same range as all the other drums in my kit, plus it is in exceptional condition. All correct square-head tension rods, COB hoops, straight tom legs, plus an original reso-side "Tom-tom Battter" head. The top head is a 70's Slingerland, but I do have a 60's NOS Tom Batter! My kit is a 12/16/20 with matching Artist snare drum. The addition of this 14" floor tom will make it a "Modern Jazz Outfit No. 9N". Yes, I also have the correct COB Krupa Sound King snare drum! Really looking forward to this tom and will post pictures with my kit. I'm happy with the way 2015 is starting!

Seems like all 14x14 floor toms are coming down in price. I felt the asking price was more than fair and decided to add this to my kit. Hope you're enjoying a great New Year, too!

Nice Mark. I just sold my 64 Modern Jazz kit. It was just too nice to take gigging so it just sat looking pretty in my drum room. It's now in a new recording studio in the middle of nowhere where it'll get used but treated right. I know I'll feel pangs of regret when you post pics of your kit with the new 14" tom.

Andrew! That's a gorgeous Oyster Pink Modern Jazz! I see your floor tom had the push-button legs. Nice!

John! I feel I got a good deal on this tom. Vintage 14" floor toms, from most US manufacturers, seem to be coming down in price. I'm happy!

Thanks for all the positive comments and support! I've attached 2 pictures, which many of you may have already seen. The first is with the matching Artist snare drum and the second with my custom-made BR 4x14, complete with COB Stickchopper hoops. The kit will really shine with the 14x14 floor tom!

I'm always on the lookout for a 14 or 18 to go with my kits.
