My Frankenstein Kit Is Complete Last viewed: 3 minutes ago

I finally got a tom to complete this kit, thanks Jeff! The 13, 16 are MIJ and the 24 is a Rogers XP8. Now what to do about 16, I was thinking about using this sparkle can paint, I forgot the name, but it's cheap and looks nice. I can get silver or blue sparkle. Any suggestions?

The sparkle or glitter spray paints can look fairly nice as a cheap alternative to real wrap, but they won't look exactly like sparkle wrap. I tested a gold sparkle rattle can on a waste paper basket, and it's more of a very fine glitter than a true sparkle. Also, it's soft and scratches easily. The craft store salesperson told me that you have to buy the special clear coat made to seal the sparkle.

Show us results if you go that route.

I've used the sparkle paint on another kit and it came out great. The silver sparkle was especially nice and I used the clear coat. This kit is pretty much staying in the rehearsal room and I don't want to spend much on the MIJ tom.

Post some pics of the painted silver sparkle. I'm thinking of doing the same on a beat-up, student MIC kit... WJM brand I think.
