My drum room...slightly out of hand Last viewed: 1 hour ago

It's probably for the better that I didn't stop by on the way home from the wedding we went to in Wisconsin last fall! We spent a Sunday night in Sprinfield (IL) and went home though St. Louis... and saw the Mason City exits along the way. We had a funeral to go to, so I missed a stop at jccabinets that we had already planned, and would have loved to also stop and look up ShawnM. Maybe next time!

My rooms (a 2-car garage and 2 BRs) look more like the one of your garage, only even there you're MUCH more organized! And most of my stuff isn't close to being ready to sell!! My van hasn't spent a night there the last few months, and I had to break down and start renting one of those storage units as well!

BTW, are you still needing small Ludwig tension rods? Honestly I was so busy finishing up some jobs I had forgotten -- and found the package you had sent me. But I'm not nearly as swamped now. Let me know.

[QUOTE=drumfactory;231571]This thing started in 1998 when I bought 2 drum sets...../QUOTE]

Only 14 years! I thought you were going to say something like, 30 years. MAN! When you go all-in, you don't mess around. Great, great collection! Fun to keep going back to look at the pics.

Thanks for sharing your story and pics and enjoy your upcoming retirement.

I have the same idea of collecting drums for the next 15 years then sell them off when I need cash. With any luck they will be worth more that I pay now. But I would think if they are purchased for a good price now, I would at least get my money back. I get a tomn of enjoyment out of finding and restoring these old tubs but like you I cant seem to see them go. So after two years of doing this I have 13 sets in my collection and a few snares.

From drumfactory

here's the rest of the room that was behind me when I took the picture, the next pic is the hallway that leads to 3 former bedrooms and a bathroom and shower stuffed with drums. I kid you not. This is what I did with my money instead of Differred comp. at my job. These are all my little C.D.'s, I.R.A.'s etc...... I retire next month and then it's on.

you ever need an extra hand, i'm really not that far from ya. i'd make that drive to be the gofer in this drum business. lol.

nice drum collection.

Personally I believe you have a very nice number of drums.And a number of very nice drums.Hoarders,at least TV hoarders,just seem to pile up things like used Burger King cups and dead cat carcasses.Piles of drums are very useful and healthy,because there is no room for the cat carcasses or Burger King cups-Burger Kin
