So today I just found this Supra on the local Music Go Round's website. My ID skills for older gear is really lacking but I'm guessing by the looks of it early to mid 80s?? SN 2202365

A couple of things about this drum aren't sitting right with me.

1 the price seems little on the low side, possibly too good to be true.

2. That Tone Control knob doesn't look right to me. Aftermarket perhaps???

I just want to make sure I'm getting the real deal and not some Chinese knock off with a Ludwig badge glued on:) What do you guys think?? safe buy???

The tone control (knob) looks Pearl or Generic.. The rest looks Luddy..

Cheers

ive viewed it online a few times myself. should be a nice drum with a good detail. hopefully the tone control used the same 2 holes as the original. won't be hard to find an original muffler.

Well I bought it, and I'm happy to report that it is in fact an honest to goodness supra. The throw off is a little jacked up. And that funky looking tone control knob, it was actually a picture of the Pearl snare next to this one in the rack.

Replacement muffler and a replacement throw off and this puppy will be as good as new. Not a bad score for 180:)

So I put on a replacement throw off and tone control on this afternoon. I also gave her a good polishing, this thing is niiiiiiiiiiiicee. There is very little pitting or flaking, just on couple of lugs and a rim. And all the surface rust came right off.

Can anybody give me an idea on what year this thing is? There is no date stamp on the inside. I used the Badge/serial number guide and narrowed it down to between 79 and 84. I'm guessing 79 or 80 maybe 81? is that the closest I can hope for??

SN is 2202365
