I finally have my dream set near completion, as you can see I have one slight problem, I can't reach all the drum LOL!! I need to take a bus ride from my

10" tom and drive over to the floor toms, I see pro's all the time with larger sets than this, and they can reach all the drums with their hands easily, maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong here, I never had a DB either, and when I sit behind the kit, the snare is in my crotch, and I can't reach the 2 drums, and I'm 6' 4"........

sizes are 2 24" bass concert toms 10/12"' up top toms 12/13 14/15

floors 16/18/20 Keep on Pl

Get the arc going!

Angle the BD's in a bit... move the small toms to where your left FT is.

It's kinda tough to manage a set with 4 toms on the BD's but give Billy Cobham, Simon Phillips and early Neil Peart set-ups the once over for the idea.

BTW... Nice kit!

Man really nice set. That's pretty much my dream setup too!! LOL Yep like Hoppy said angle the basses and curve the toms around you. One problem is the Slingerland tom mounts not being very adjustable. You'll have to get used to playing them. My second set was just about the exact same thing in natural finish minus the concert toms. Coming off a 5pc Rogers it took a little getting used to. And sucked to gig with LOL but ya gotta love the big set. I had a blast with them. Enjoy them!

BTW did you pick them up as a complete set? Or have you been collecting them as you find them? They are sweet.

Beautiful drums! Looks to me like you can just get another snare and make 2 full sets for different sounds. Play one for a while and then when you get bored you can play the other. Or you can try one set with different heads and cymbal arrangements for experimentation. Invite a friend over who can play and you can battle royale or give someone an interactive lesson or 2...

Just a thought...

Yea, nice set! Those Slingy's look great. You need to kind of put the toms in a curve. Your sitting on the drum throne and turn, kind of like the point on a compass as you turn you should be able to reach all the toms. I have 6,8,10,12,13,14and 15 mounted toms and a 16 and 20 floor toms and have no problem reaching all the drums. Only have one bass though(with a double pedal setup). I'm only about 5' 5".

I have an idea based on what some members passed on to me, what I might try is this, remove one bass drum, buy 2 tom double stands, mount 2 sets of toms on stands around the single bass, I think by eliminating one bass and the bass tom mounts I will have more flexbility in setting it up so I can play them....after I find some stands I'll see who that works..........thanks all!
