Mark!
WOW... that goes back a ways! I met Mike James on the OFFICIAL Buddy Rich site many years back, and ended up selling him a 1970 Slingerland 4x14 Buddy Rich model snare drum in WMP that I wrote an article on for Classic Drummer magazine. We have stayed in touch here and there too. This does go back though based on the fact that I SOLD that Rogers Buddy Rich Celebrity with the 14X22 and 8X12 when I found a 1965 Rogers Buddy Rich Celebrity in the proper sizes, which is the kit that I have had now for years. Forgot all about those pages Mark! I should get in touch with Mike and have him update for me!

Tommy this is good stuff. I was doing a search on some other stuff and this came up. This has awesome photos and great copy.
Very nice profile on Tommy's BR sets, but no picture or description of his 18" bass drum set up:

Took this pic when I had the pleasure of hearing him perform, and it made me question why I drag a 22" to gigs. I can see why these ultra-rare Rogers 18"s are so coveted. I want one really bad, but darn it, he never takes his eyes off of it even during breaks! ;)
But seriously Tommy... a BIG thank you for meeting up with me last week and delivering that package. I'll post a shot of it behind my set.

Hey Mike!
Yes indeed!... but allow me to mention that the "package" wasn't of a how shall I say... organic nature.
... I remember when you guys came out and caught the Frank Show, and took that pic! Here's the same set from last Saturday's gig... and I only post it up as it's a little larger/clearer. I LOVE the Rogers Buddy Rich Celebrity's Mike!, but... based on who/what I'm playing, the little Rogers Jazz kit with the 14X18 is indeed a winner! Those little bass drums speak nicely! THANKS for the kind words!
