Ya and the giant whole in the kick head.DOH
Does anyone know if the holes for the Ludwig mount will match up with the holes for a Slingerland Set-O-Matic mounting plate? Even if you don't use the Slingy mount, it will look more at home on the drum that the Ludwig. So what if the Slingy mount will be on the diagonal? The Set-O-Matic arm can swing to the position where you want it to be.
I answered my own question.
I just measured the hole placement on two of my bass drums. The Ludwig hole spacing is 3.25" between the holes. The Slingerland hole spacing is 3.75" between the holes. The existing holes can be slightly enlarged to compensate for that one half inch differential. Then, a Set-O-Matic plate can be installed in the same place. That is what I would do to improve on that already terrific Slingy drum set.
Great looking set jonnyringo.
BTW. You keep buying and selling kit's as much as you do were going to have to nickname you.

Mark very cool drums! Merry Christmas! Red sparkle is such a nice color too.
Just wondering how the BD badge ended up over there... was it a virgin marcher in it's former life?...
Cheers
