I have seen this many times and I am going to give it a whirl. My questions are

1 How would you attach the pedal to the case.?

2 Which type of beater to use felt or wood?

Its an old Pearl chrome snare/and case. There is enough room for a snare stand, small cymbal and stand. Thanks in advance,Matt

I have seen it done by using a "T Hinge".. The hinge then folds flat when not used for the pedal.. You will need to add a strip of wood, rubber, or similar to the flat to suit your pedal..

Cheers

why would someone want to do this.

wouldn't it be easier to just get a bass drum?

One of my gigs is in a Bluegrass band.I get the meanest looks setting up drums at the festivals. Its not my drumming. So I thought of really downsizing .I had seen the snare case thing in San Diego and it looked and sounded fine for NON amplified music..

you could also do the suitcase deal and contain everything in one suitcase. there's a few examples of really nice ones floating around.

+1 on the suitcase. I think some company actually "manufactures" a kit like that. It works pretty well and definitely is a conversation starter.
