Major Birthday Gift Idea for a Drummer?

OK, just a silly question for a Thursday. A recently had a big milestone (I guess) birthday. Looking to get something to celebrate for myself being the selfish vintage drum nut that I am. What would you suggest in the vintage area? Any ideas are welcome. I have 3 vintage kits and a few snares. I'm not into vintage cymbals but maybe that's because I don't know enough. Not looking to go broke either. I told my family, relatives not to get me anything and they didn't lol. Stupid me :) Thanks for indulging me.

Belated Happy Birthday Larry. I also had a big milestone birthday last month and my family surprised me with a "FitBit" Surge unit. They are concerned about my health and wearing it reminds me to stay on my doctor instructed weight loss plan along with my daily exercising plan.

Your "Joyce Meyer" quote says it all.

I hope you had a decent birthday. A vintage snare drum always marks the occasion nicely. You can't have too many drums I always say (my wife doesn't agree.)

I just had a birthday this week also. I am watching a bari sax on eBay that I would love to have.

1971 Ludwig Rock Duo set in Blue Oyster Pearl
early Mapex dual bass drum Saturn kit
1964 Leedy Ray  Mosca kit in Blue Sparkle
1959 Slingerland Super Gene Krupa snare in WMP
1968 Slingerland Hollywood Ace Snare Drum
1969 and 1977 Ludwig 400 Supraphonic snares
1965 Acrolite snare
Ludwig Coliseum snare
'68 Rogers Dynasonic snare
Pearl free floating piccolo snare
13" Mapex piccolo snare
6.5" deep Mapex steel snare
Mapex 6.5" Brass snare
I know there's more snares than that.
UFIP cymbals / Avedis Zildjians
Ghost pedals or Tama King Beats

Happy Birthday !!

I've got one coming up myself.....they are all "milestones" these days...getting a few "wrinkles in the birthday suit", so to speak.....LOL...:):)

I've got too many snares right now, do you have a price range?

Maybe a sale of one of mine to you would fund a birthday gift to myself?

Thanks, and congrats for making it another year on Planet Earth !!

Happy Birthday Larry!

Congrats on another year of living and playing...

Nothing quite like a vintage snare :) or cymbal as a gift. I find I enjoy acquiring some key snares like a Buddy Rich Classic eight lug with Classic strainer in WMP or a 70's Black Beauty.

I was fortunate enough to find both the drums mentioned above just "lying around" in someone's junk room, have since restored them and they have been sold off. Now I wish I had kept them.. sorry for rambling but nothing says Happy Birthday for collectors like a vintage snare :)

Good one. I spoil her with enough love and affection already....but I like the response as well as everyone else's... :)

well then what more could she ask for? id be 100% satisfied.

Happy Birthday Larry. i was the same way last year as you are now. but in the end...the best gift i got was the ability to be with my family and friends. a June, 1964 all original Ludwig kit with matching snare and all the goodies to go with it would be a realy cool gift too.

not sure what to suggest other then maybe some special vintage accessories to go with that special kit you have?
