lyons and healy snare drum brass & calfskin Last viewed: 3 hours ago

hi all,, iused to deal in old musical instuments and bought this snare drum primarily because of the drum sticks that came with it. the drum has a paper label inside that says Manufactured by Lyonand Healy manufacturers and dealers in "Musical Instrruments " factory Randolph st. and Union Park salesroom Cor. wabash ave and adams st CHICAGO. It has a brass shell and there are only six of the eight rods and clamps (i think it had eight originally) The heads are calfskin top and bottom and are very old ( in good condition tho) the snares are gut . the rims look like they could be mahogany (don't know )dark wood in good condition. I don't know how to post pictures on this site yet.. I boughtthese about twenty years ago because i thought i might eventually do something with them ,but now i want to sell instead , but have no idea of the value, opinions welcomed. The drumsticks are old and they are dark maroon colored almost black, they are counterbalanced on the rear end with brass covers (about three inches at the back end of the sticks), they just float in your hands. anyone who has any idea what these are about i'd like to know.

Thanks Mike, sorry I missed your post earlier.

It took a long time to bring back up to snuff.

I messed up hard and sold this one from 1905 a couple of years ago, never again!

Checkout the birdseye on that puppy.... dang I messed up.
