Wow.. these guys are in your back yard (kind'a) and you could make any part for any drum. http://auroralabs3d.com/

They also cost about $200 per lug haha. I think it may be a long time before my Dandy kit is finished unless I win the lottery as John said :P

OUCH!! I'm curious did they say they could make those with that metal 3d printer? Or did the conversation not make it that far? Would printed plastics be cheaper and get the kit playable with the correct look while you search for parts? This 3d printing thing has me curious. I think we have one at work.. put up a picture of what your looking for and I'll see what we have.

Yeah they can make them out of metal no problem but its just too costly. The guy said its about 30 bucks an hour but one lug would take 6-8 hours. I guess the plastic thing is a last resort but yes i have thought about that.

The lugs I need recreated are pictured here on the FT.

Beautiful designing on those lugs! They are a perfect blend of the Gretsch and Radio King lugs! Seen straight-on it looks Radio King, the side view looks all Gretsch. Very cool.

So, you want to have copies of the Dandy lug made?

Like the ones on the floor tom shown in pic?

Great lug.

Never seen anything like it.

Are those die-cast rims on that tom in pic?

Are Dandy drums from Australia?

enuf questions......for now.

Got a deal done with a place today that are going to do them for $15 each. This doesn't include chroming I know some people that can help escape that part cheaply and it's better than the 120 per lug quotes I was getting. The lugs should be done in 10 days or so days. As I said before, if this works out cheap enough then i can supply others on the forum that are desperate for certain parts. Only catch is that an original is needed to make the copies from

@ $15. per you did spectacular! Take them to a motorcycle shop and ask them to 'batch process' your lugs with their metal stuff next time they send in to have something chromed. They'll do it for you and it'll only add a few dollars apiece to the price of the lugs. Considering that you were never going to find originals, you're getting off cheap!

You did great.
