Hey, I just got a nice wood shell re-wrap (Champagne sparkle) on ebay.

Blue Olive badge, rounded corners.

Wood shell, 8 lugs.

It LLOKS like 3 ply. Any guidance as to what this shell is made of?

Damned nice sounding wood shell, BTW...

My cup really runneth over...

if its 3 ply, it should have re-rings. they did make some 4 ply shells in the 80's. i don't know which woods they used in the layup however.

Rounded corners,then its 79 or later.Around 76 ludwig went to a 6 ply maple/poplar with no re rings.Great drums

agreed. i think the granitones are 4 ply and the maples are 6 ply.
