From EricP

I know what you mean VM, but I think I finally got this snare tuned uppretty decently for me today. Here is a goobery youtube video I madea short while ago - Dorking out for my friends on vintagedrumforum.comUPloading another short one I just did, but using my 'new' '83 all birchSuperStar 6 1/5'' snare to kind of compare.Man, it's kinda weird making these videos when it's just the drummer withno other musicians. hee hee

That does sound great nice and warm and woody, I like the roadie you have,, works like a dog I bet?? and enjoyed the improv!!

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

And here my scrappy butt using my 'new' 1983 SuperStar snare:

I guess I made these for sound comparison of the 2 snares, but since I used

a lower end camera to make this, it probably makes little distinction between

the two. heh

eric, that was cool also! i like the wfl better, but the tama sounds great! you have a good sound range with just those two drums there!

I think the WFL is woodier with more potential backbeat coolness, but the batter is not as tight as the Tama. Both are coated ambassadors.

I totally geeked out today with my gear. Party

Great looking drums.

I'm becoming really interested in Luddies now I've seen all these.

Are there any particular years of manufacture that were considered not so good for Ludwigs?

Also, are there any golden years, that people think were the best years.

Blonks.
