Got the kit and it looks pretty good. I need the bass drum hoop and hardware of course. I am not used to the Vistalite sound and have to admit that I am not that into it. Before I get completely discouraged, I wanted to ask you Vistalite players what heads work best with these drums? They currently have the black dot heads that came with the kit. I tried coated ambassadors and did not like that sound at all. It's probably just a bit of a shock as I am more used to the three ply Ludwig sound. Any advice would be great.
Thanks guys
ive used pinstripes on mine. they sounded great. but my toms are concert toms. ive also used Ludwig silver dots with success. I agree with you in that the coated ambassadors don't get much praise with most vistalite owners.

+1 for Ludwig silver dots. I have those as batters and Ludwig medium clear for reso heads. Could probably even run Ludwig heavy clear on the reso. Love the sound I get with the Ludwig heads, plus the silver dot looks cool.
Thanks guys. Will they sound different that the black dot?
I've liked clear pinstripes and clear Aquarian II's. Be sure you are listening to them from a distance. Your kit sounds completely different from 20 feet in front than sitting behind.
