I'm not too up on the timelines of pre '70 Ludwig hardware/mounts other than what I own myself....I'm considering the purchase of a 15" tom...keystone badge, pre-serial, round chrome muffler, and with no mount of any kind. Does this equation sound correct? It seemed odd to me that a tom of that age would have no mount nor any indication of one ever being installed...also wasn't sure when the baseball bat mufflers came in as it relates to a pre-serial badge...

I'd welcome any info/help!

it sounds like a 12x15 tenor tom to me. many of those have no mounts,not even marching mounts. early pre serial ludwigs had 3/4 round knob mufflers. if the muffler is right above the badge(i think thats right), its most likely again, a tenor tom.
