I have a very similar drum and it is the 5.5"version hand hammered bronze with serial number 3112859-my badge says Chicago IL and I an told it is from the mid 80's-it has the B stamp above the muffler knob in the correct position-I am told that Ludwig did the backward stamp sometimes to indicate bronze instead of brass but when they stopped making brass around the mid 80's the put the straight B on the bronze ones-mine is also the super sensitive version

About right for price.

I own a 5"x14" version of the drum, it's my favorite snare drum.

Too many great drums to list here!

Thanks very much for your help guys.So would the $700.00-$800.00 range be a fair price for the Luddy 6.5 hammered bronze super sensitive? Anyone know when Ludwig moved from Chicago to Munroe?-that would help me date this snare abit better.Any idea on this one`s age(early-mid 90`s?) Many thanks again...
