Ludwig Standard 1968ish Blue Strata

Loading...

Selling our stuff to pay for medical bills. I have a Ludwig Standard drum set that looks to be blue strata. from the stamp on the base drum looks like it was made in 1968. Is it appropriate for me to advertise it for sale here or can you recommend a site on which to post. I know very little about drums, just looked at the serial number and looked it up. It is in very good condition. If someone could tell me how to price it and where to post it, that would help me mucho. The set has a base drum, two drums that mount about that, a floor tom and a snare, I think. Sorry for being such a novice. If you could give me a clue I would appreciate.

Hi. Well, it's almost a necessity that we can see some pictures of the drums that are clear enough to show their condition. After that, the best way to indicate the current market value is to go to Ebay and check for completed auctions for a similar item and look at several examples to kind of average out what they are actually selling for.

In general, the Standard line brings in less than the Classic Ludwig line, even though the sound is the same great Ludwig sound. Blue and Ruby Stratas are by far the most commonly-seen Standard drum finishes, so value is extremely dependent on the condition...as is the condition of the chrome and the functionality of the hardware.

Most of the time, only the very best condition Standard drum sets break $1K. Most sell for less than that. One of the best deals out there is a Ludwig Standard drum set....unless you're selling one! Awesome sounding drums, though. Burger Kin
