Hi all, since I posted a question about my mystery drums, I thought I would take the time to show another project I have in the works. I bought this set about two months ago, hoping to get it cleaned up through the winter and start tapping on it. I can't find a good "before" picture from the front, just the driver's side. Second pic is the kick (24 inch) after just a little cleaning. I think the hoops will be the most work, kind of rough! Thanks for looking!

It looks great. no better sounding drums on the planet.
Nice set. I too have the privilege of owning this amazing sounding set.
I used a lot of car chrome polish elbow grease then sanded my hoops shot them with satin black lacquer and put on recycled silver inlays that I got from some savior on this here forum.
Good luck with them and show more pictures as you progress.

Nice kit. They are number 1 on my wish list. A friend had a set in school, I'll never forget the way they sounded.
I just scarfed a kit as well. I am impressed. The bass drum in particular is phenomenal; it reminds me to a CF Tempus bass drum, in its power and frequency range. Serious thump and cut, with the right heads.
Any ding/dent repair?
If so how was it done?
I have a kit too. A few dings in the BD.
Thanks
Thanks to Mr. Jerry Jenkins
I've seen folks use a rubber mallet.
Hi there- I have gotten an 18 inch floor tom since I posted. It has some dings that need to be dealt with I think. Two options in my mind: automotive paintless dent repairman, or brass instrument repair person. I am going to check into option two first, since they may be more sensitive to the nature of the drum. Thankfully the bearing edges are good.
FWIW, I also scored a black cortex Ludwig Power Factory set that had been dragged through the mud for a couple decades. Good mostly for parts, but the 6.5 Supraphonic snare is in great shape, and has been added to the stainless set. I will get it together over the next few months and check back.
What planet? :)
I'd go instead with my old club dates...
