Hey guys, is there any chance that SS is a brass shell? I don't see any pitting or flaking only chrome that needs polishing. Also, the spacing of the lug "steps" looks more like the brass models (wider). Or, where there no 63-64 SS's with brass shells?

WOW. Thanks guys!!! What a great source of information!!! Yea, it was a pretty awesome find in the basement. I actually have one more Ludwig that Ill post pictures of too. As for the guards that someone mentioned, I think I might have those....Ill post pictures of that too. I remember playing the two tone Pioneer as a kid...didn't know it was still in my basement.
I know they are in kinda rough shape, but does anyone have a possible value for these? Thanks for all the info!!!
it would be uncommon to see a brass shell in that particular era. they were into the ludalloy production by this time. might has brass hoops or one each brass/steel.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm at work tonight so Ill get some pics put up tomorrow. The third snare I have is chrome looking, keystone badge and I think labled either in the 200*** or 700***s. That one is complete and playable.
