Daz,

Depending on the condition of the Supra is where the price variance comes into play. Pitting on the shell as well as flaking of chrome makes a huge difference! The Ludalloy shell just doesn't hold up so well during the plating process. Also the hoops make a difference in price...in '65 they seemed to use whatever they had in stock, as I have 3 '65 supra's in mint condition (born that yr, and looking for a date stamp on my b-day, but believe they all took that Friday off...lol). One has COB hoops, One has Cob hoops with the drop down snare gate, and the other has a COS bottom, and COB batter side???

The other BIG factor on price is shell material. Pre serial numbered brass ones get the big bucks. Serial numbers came in in alte 1963 or 4-ish from memory (they didn't change over precisely at midnight on New Year's eve!). Yours has a baseball bat muffler control (BB is the nickname) which means it is before the changeover to the knob sort. Well, actually there was a knob sort earlier, then BB, then back to a knob (but a little bigger). Does yours have a serial number? I may have missed the answer to that, and I can't pick it from the tarnished badge.

it's a 1965 model the serial# is on the first page of the post.

Daz, if you're interested in selling any gear, notify the other U.K. members here--they're always complaining that there's no vintage drum gear over there.....marko
