ludwig snare help! Last viewed: 8 hours ago

Hey everyone! About 7 years ago, someone left this old snare at my house and I thought it was too beat up and didn't have enough parts to repair it, so I put it in a closet only to forget about it until yesterday. I took it out and looked at it and thought: "2 rims, the throw off works, and the snare is right here...I'll Google this serial number and try to find something out about it." So I did. The date stamp inside says Mar 11 and the year was blurred, but based on the badge and serial number, it was made in 1965. Basically all I need are heads and some tension rods for it. The only thing I'm unsure about is the tension rods. It looks like I have to have a square nut to go inside of each lug thing. That's what I'm posting about. Anyone know how I'd go about fixing this up the right way? Here are some pictures of it!

Short tension rods and square bolts are needed. Bolts can be found at a hardware store. I don't know the length needed for the tension rods but I'd start with one off a 12" tom and take it from there. I used that model snare drum on tour in the early 80's and when the drum detuned on stage ( I hit hard then ) the bolt would fall out and my roady would have to crawl around looking for the dang bolt!
