Does anyone know in what year Ludwig switched from the "script" to the "block" logo on its mounting pieces, such as rail consolettes and the like?
I'm trying to determine whether the original rail consolette on a 1968 Downbeat kit would have had the script or block Ludwig logo engraved on it.

Both styles would be correct for 1968. They switched to the block logo mid year.

I am selling parts from a '68 Ludwig set and the cymbal stands have the block logo on them while the snare drum, a supra, with a '67 date, had a p-83 with the block logo on it (which I had thought were only normal for Ludwig standard snare drums). I have no reason to believe it was switched. I think they must have came with some hardware discrepancies various periods especially when they're transitioning to the block or parallelogram logo or from a rail mount to a post mount system, etc. Don't forget this is a factory where orders are still coming in and parts are laying around. Well, maybe not in disarray, but still not all neat and cut-and-dried.
