Ludwig question regarding 20" kicks Last viewed: 45 minutes ago

Does anyone know what 60's Ludwig catalog showed the 20" kick as an option for the Super Classic set? I thought I had a jpg copy of the catalog but can't find it.

Please point me in the right direction so I can save it to my mess of a computer.

Thanks!!

The 55/56 has the 14x24 and 14x6 1/2 option on the Rich super classic.

The 20" bass configuration appears in the 1971 catalog, model 987P.

No 1960s catalog that I've seen has the 20" bass, although there is a time lag between catalogs getting put together, printed, and sent out. The catalog dated 1971 might formalize kits which were being shipped in the late 1960s.

If you search for "superbeat" (a nickname mixing super classic and downbeat) you will find various threads discussing these. Thanks to Andrew (Fayray) for posting this particular link (in a different thread).

Maybe we should amend the site motto to "ask a question, get a relevant answer"? :)

or a good suggestion,....

....Take two of your finest 22"concert K`s, clean them a bit, heat them to 175 degrees, hold one in each hand at 90degrees to your eyes so you can`t see them, begin clapping away............

Anyways what`s super classic about a 70`s shell ?
