I have a Ludwig 1123, NOS, with the original box. The top locknut on the clutch is the larger oval one. I've done some searching, but..

does anyone know the (approximate) year Ludwig started to use these, instead of the round knurled locknut?

Details, details, but it'd be good to know.

The original box comes with genuine NOS grease stains on it!!!

I know the part you're talking about... but... I honestly don't know when they made the switch to the round knurled nuts. If anyone would know, it might be Ludwig-dude. Maybe he'll see this and give us his thoughts!

Oh...I thought it was the other way around, that the oval nuts were later...

well maybe ludwig-dude will weigh in.
