Hello,

Got a question that I have wondered about for awhile now. These ludwig lugs both came off a 1967 Bass drums. They look the same on top, but when you turn them over they are made different. Wich one is correct to a 1967 bass drum? Are they both correct? How do you date Ludwig hardware such as lugs, screws, t-rods, claws, etc..Please, any information would be helpful..

Thanks,

Hi,As for your questions,it's my understanding that the lug on the right in the photo could be anywere from about 1955-1965,the one on the left is from about 1965-1975 or so,when it comes to the screws with slits are from before 1960 after 1960 all the way to the late 70s they were just hex shape screws with-out slits.when it comes to t-rods and claws the 1960s are heavyer ones then the 70s...Mikey

Hello! Just want to say that the Lud lugs from different generations, are not the same from the top also.(P.S. The differences are barely noticable.)
