Ludwig LM402 with die cast hoops Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I'm looking at a 14x6.5 Supra that has a pointy 70s badge but with big fat Ludwig diecast hoops. It's labelled as a Coliseum but i suspect that's just the hoops as the drum is definitely a Supra. My question is, are the hoops valuable at all? If I bought it I'd want to fit the standard hoops which will cost money but will I get that back on the DC hoops? Sorry, no photos.

The drum is very tidy and they are asking the equivilent of $540usd and it's local so no shipping. Thanks

Greetings. Really even a fair price on one die-cast should allow you to score 2 tri-flange. I use 2.3mm from Interstate. You'll be amazed how they will change the tone of that drum. Make a bit of profit on the DC too...Coffee Break2

If memory serves, Ludwig began offering DC batter hoops

as optional around the mid-eighties. ( 75th Anniversary )

So, an LB-402D would be a factory DC batter hoop.

Certainly an easy ( and pricey ) upgrade right from the Marching line.

The Luddy hoop was very Deco in that it had no "ears"

Or it could be an after-market.

I digress.

Gibraltar 14" 10-Hole Hoop

Pearl Super II, Tama, DW and of course Ludwig are nice too.

If you do not like the hoops, I'd be interested in them. I love the old twin channel die casts....

The shipping from New Zealand may put you off thoughMind Blowi

I'm still undecided on this, not helped by my purchase of a 10 lug 6.5x14 Slingerland Sound King yesterday on ebay USA. Even with the expensive shipping it was just over half the price of the Supra which is just a walk from my house.

I'll let you know though
