Yep, THAT'S a Jazzette shell pack (sans snare drum) and it's the real mahogany finish! That's an INCREDIBLE deal for a working jazz drummer's kit. I'll bet it sounds great. I think this is the same one that came up awhile ago....isn't it?

I'm officially in "sell-ONLY" mode for the next year, so I'm not going to bid against anyone. Go for it, SOMEONE!!

Real tempting. I'm in the market for a small Ludwig kit. But $350.00 shipping? Ouch......

That's the shipping price listed on ebay.ca -- the Canadian site. If you look it up on ebay.com, the shipping price is listed as $95.

The description also states, "Buyer pays shipping of $95 in the US. Overseas shipping will run $350." Being that they're not in the U.S. nor overseas, are Canadian & Latin American buyers S.O.L.? ;-)

GONE! Anyone here snag them?

Yep, they're gone...poof! It wasn't me.

Looking at the close-up pictures, it was clear that the finish was not good. The Mahogany paint/stain was flaking all over on each drum. I was thinking re-wrap? God forbid.... or was the flaking paint just character on a rare kit like that? So, the question is, in retrospective contemplation, what would you have done with that kit? What say you?

I was going to bid at the lower price before the auction ended, but oh well! Some of the joy of this vintage drum gig is in the hunt. More like that will re-surface again.

-Cheers!

Wasn't me either! Came across these semi-locally for less then a quarter of the cost. No shipping, and cheap. Maple finish. Plus cool sizes. 10/14/ 20 x 12" bass. Happy boy!......

Wasn't me, but whoever got it will be very happy with the sound. I wouldn't have touched the finish. It's original "Thermogloss" mahogany. You just don't see that finish very often and it was one of the two "official" Jazzette finishes.

Hi Guys. It was me who snagged this Jazzette last night. Two things I have always wanted...a matched mahogany kit and a Jazzette. I never thought I'd find them in one package so I had to go for it. Thank you Kellyj for surfacing this beauty. I'll be interested to see first-hand the condition of the finish and assuming it's as rough as a few of the photos indicate, I'd love to know your opinions...what would you do? Leave it alone or attempt to clean them up. Regardless, what I'm most excited about is playing them!
