Did Ludwig ever date stamp the inside of these shells? I have a kit that dates to 1976 according to the serial numbers. Thanks.

Though I don't recall the years, I've seen granitone interiors with a date stamp. I want to say it was on Ludwig Standards.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I have seen date stamps as late as April 1971 on Granitone / Lud-Cote interiors of both Standard and Blue/Olive badge drums. I have heard reports of later date stamps, but cannot personally verify these.

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72
