I never quite understood the ga-ga over champagne sparkle wrap.

I mean, it's nice. But I can think of 10 different wraps I like better. Seriously.

(yeah, sour grapes...lol)

Quick question for you guys...I always double check before I do anything like this, but i got a guy who's willing to buy this kit but wants serial numbers. Is that a cool thing to do? Just making sure.

Absolutely. Many sellers of vintage kits will offer the serial numbers without being asked so potential buyers can have an idea of an approximate date of birth for the drums. No problem and totally cool.

It's a tough break when guys on here who would love to have that kit do not find these kind of deals and then non drummers, and some of the ones who do, just come here, get info, and flip them as fast as possible. I hope a forum member who would really appreciate them gets them.

Isn't one of the purposes of this forum to be educated? The intention of me selling them is that so someone who appreciates them more than I can get their hands on them. I wanted as much information as possible through this forum so that I could accurately describe and not sound like a dumba$$ (I still might). Thanks to all of you, I have a better understanding and it is not my intention to rip anyone off. I came across this drum kit by chance from someone who had absolutely ZERO respect for them and paid what he was asking. At the time, I had no idea what they would be potentially worth but I knew that they had a history. I had and still do have a respect for them and if I can make a little money doing so, then so be it. Again, thank you all for your help and I truly hope that one of you gets it. :-)

I understand Chad. Nothing personal. We have just recently had a rash of people come through here that we felt had intentions of gaining knowledge, or basically taking advantage. There was a discussion about it on another thread. Those are beautiful drums, I have some like those . We hope you give a deserving forum member first shot at them. Welcome and thank you.

Re: Champagne Sparkle - I had a club date kit in the mid 80s and while a great sounding kit, it was the 80s and I was young. I hated it then and still pined for the Tama kit that I had to sell for college tuition money. A very good friend sold me that Ludwig club date for $150bux including stands and the Ludwig by Paiste cymbals. I sold it after the college band broke up. I ended up with a set of Pearl Exports which, in hindsight, was no substitute for the Club Dates.

Now, of course I want that kit back and I'll never be able to afford it again. Live and learn!

Re: selling this particular kit ... Best of luck Chad and I hope someone here gets it too. You got a great deal on this kit!!

From GG Vintage

Looks more like Champaign Sparkle...nice kit in any case. Congrats!

Looks more like CHAMPAGNE Sparkle to me.

Selling tips:

Make sure that you list the set as RARE.

Call the bass drum a "kick"

Call the drum set a "kit"

You must state that the "kick" drum is a "cannon"

Make a Ringo mention in the listing title

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
