Ludwig (?) Faucet Style T-Rods Question Last viewed: 1 day ago

Loading...

I came across some faucet style tension rods I was told were for a Ludwig Club Date bass drum. Unfortunately they are shorter than Club Date tension rods.

In the pic below, the longer rod is a Club Date rod. Does anyone know what the the shorter rod is? It looks identical to a Club Date rod but shorter. I have no use for these rods...I have five of them.

most likely for a more narrow depth drum dan. ive got a couple of 12x17 clubdate drums. I think the shorter rod that you show will fit the 12" depth on those and drums like them.

Thanks Mike. From this picture you can see how it lines up on a 14x20 Club Date. I believe you are correct that these would fit on a center lug 12" deep shell.

I'm curious, what type of drums are your 12x17's? Marching bass?

Other companies used those same type of T rods (Gretsch in the 50's and I think older Rogers as well) so they might not even be Ludwigs. I wonder if W&A or some other parts supplier was the actual source for those since more than one company used them.

Was wondering the same thing. I'm after some for a Rogers kit and see so many brands that look the same?? :D

I've got a complete set of WFL (early Ludwig) that used the faucet style t-rods. I have a 1956 WFL bass that is all original and it has the later style flat arched style Ludwig t-rods. I don't know when they made the switch, but I do know it was before '56. :)

My Walberg & Auge 1963 bass drum has those handles on the T rods.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Thanks folks. I don't have a use for these and would like to get them to someone who can use them. Don't want to advertise them as something they're not (Club Date bass drum t-rods).

I've got a couple Rogers kits with bow tie rods and they are different from these.

Dan thanks for the picture!! I see the dimples and extended neck on the Rogers. Big difference seeing them side by side. I don't have any to compare so this is a huge help. Many thanks.
