Ludwig Drum Mount? - What is this?

I received a stand that looks like it was manufactured by Ludwig. It resembles the hardware used in the 70s. But, I have never seen a stand quite like this one and seriously don't even now what it would have been used for.

Can anyone give me a clue? I looked through the on-line catalogs but could not find one like this one. The previous owner told me it was for holding toms, but I can't seem to make the visual in my head on how it would work.

These clip-mount stands were also used for bongo drums and sometimes timbales, too.

Thanks for the info. - I looked, but obviously overlooked that pic.

Do these have any value?

Are there any people looking for them?

I am just trying to decide what to do with them - I have no real use for them.
