Ludwig COW Snare ? jazzfest worth

Loading...

Looking at a Green/Olive badge Ludwig snare. It looks like it is Chrome over Wood (COW). What kind of value is here? Is a hundred bucks too much? Looking to pull the trigger tomorrow.

Cheers!

Lame I can't upload from my iPad!

i wouldnt say that 100 is too much. they can be found cheaper at times. that one looks pretty good. with that interior, lugs and badge, that looks like the '84 s/l drum. might be a 4 ply. these sound great. ive got one like it and in the 6.5 depth. they later went to rocker/standard lugs and then black and white badges. that is an earlier one. i think i paid 75 for mine with a case and stand. if i found one local for 100, i'd grab it. check that strainer though. should have had a p85 on it make sure no extra holes in the shell for that. if its been redrilled, easily, easily cut the price in half in my opinion.

Hey Mike, is his COW the same as the one I re-wrapped for you? If it is, that's a great sounding snare. Great, solid, woody sound. Chunky. I liked that one. I'd buy it for $100.

Too many great drums to list here!
