Did Ludwig make their hoops for the 70's butcher block kits black with inlay or natural with inlay. I have never seen black hoops, only natural for this kit. A very knowledgeable vintage drum local said they were produced in black w/ the block inlay. Any insight would be appreciated. Any aging ex-Ludwig employees out there?

Bondo, The early '70s butcher block cortex kit that I had came with black hoops with butcher block inlay. I trust this helps.

It does help…but why have I never seen a Ludwig butcher block kit with black hoops! Maybe I am being stubborn. Every kit I have seen on ebay has clear maple.
