Ludwig and Ludwig 4x14 Snare-$250 Shipped

Loading...

Hey everyone,

This is also up on the bay, but I thought i'd present it here as well.

1920's-ish (around 1916?) Ludwig and Ludwig "Dance Model" snare drum. Size is 4x14.

It appears someone refinished this snare with the copper-looking finish, as well as the clips.

Original strainer, though someone had put a different one before it to create the 2 extra holes (see photos). An alternate butt plate as well, creating 2 other extra holes. "Active Snare System" snares, which sound great, but obviously aren't original.

"Ludwig and Ludwig" engraved top hoop!

This definitely has that piccolo sound, and it's very playable. It's also a great display piece that looks great.

Please ask any questions prior to purchasing!

66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Ha, not sure if chopped is good or bad!

Definitely some obvious modifications (how I bought it), but pretty cool I think.

(Believe me, I'd rather have this thing be in it's original condition).
