Ludwig & Ludwig from a dumpster dive Last viewed: 1 day ago

You guys would appreciate this.

As I found it:

Ludwig & Ludwig bass drum 26x13, early 20's badge, 3-ply (some small areas of delamination) , grey/black pearl wrap (badly warped), original hardware (considerable rust). Beautiful birds-eye maple interior ply, maple re-rings (the scarf joints have separated, otherwise in good shape), the rims are mahogany and quite good.

Also a WFL Twin Spring Speed-Master (rust and a moth eaten beater), and last but not least, a muffler 5 1/2" in diam. and the felt is in good shape!

Anybody know who JP is?

That is some find.I looked at the badges in the VDG and it is a 20's badge, but the large Imperial lugs don't show up in a catalog till '38.Hmmmm

Those drums have beautiful tone. And a vintage pedal and muffler to boot! I must shop at the wrong dumpsters...

Well worthy of complete restoration... even using it as the core of a kit. What a score, even in the condition it's in. The lugs alone are worth over $100.

The American judges give that dive a 10! Yes Sir

John

Too many great drums to list here!

JP was Johnny Padres a terrific major league pitcher from the 50's and 60's.

Or, the drum could be from the original backline for Judas Priest.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
