Ludwig Acrolite

Bought this on the local Craigslist... quite cheap. Has the blue badge, eight lugs and I believe is all original. Any idea what year this would be? Value?

More pics later.

Early 70's pointy B/O badge. Get em for between $75 and $125. Excellent snare drum for the money. You have a great sounding drum there, if you got it cheap, so much the better.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Great workhorse snare! BackBeatKeeper sold me one a while back and it sounds great. And you can bang it around and not lose any sleep over it. Looks like you got a nice complete package. Enjoy it.

Thanks guys, the drum is pretty sweet. But now, my curiosity is getting out of control. Below are four pictures, two of the Acrolite and two of my Standard. Aside from cosmetics what are the differences? I can't hear much difference soundwise. Is one better? Are they basically the same?

Thanks, Cassidy

And the bottoms. Do both drums appear to be all original?

Thanks again...

what blair says...

i think the standard shells are also ludalloy just like the acrolite but without the center bead. i agree that they sound virtually identical to my ears.
