Ludwig Acrolite Hoops Question

Loading...

Hello

I have a B/O ludwig acrolite from the original owner but the top and bottom hoops don't seem to match. Is this normal or did the hoop get replaced?

I'm looking at the dips in the hoops near the tension rod inserts.

Thanks

Just checked my '69 acro.

Your bottom rim looks a Ludwig profile.

In the 70's, the ear became wider on supras.

interesting, thanks for the responses

The SN on this one is in the 31XXXXX so that puts it in the 80's?

The tension rods all match, but they don't look like ludwigs from the 70's... But the snare wires, top and bottom heads are all original...

However the Slingerland drums that were built in the 80's had different hoops and tension rods too yes?
