OK, so here's the story behind these drums. I found these using Searchtempest.com (a site which allows you to search craigslist on a state-wide or even nationwide scale), and drove about 2 hours to the middle-of-nowhere to buy this kit, suspecting that they were indeed the Super Classics, as the pictures above suggested.
I was not Disappointed! The owner of these drums received them as a gift from his friend who was a drummer, and had *literally* never moved them from the place he'd set them up in his finished basement the day he received them. They had been played only only a handful of times when his buddy came over to jam, and had not been played in ten years or more, since his friend moved to Florida. The owner had never even removed the stock Ludwig heads. The chrome is FLAWLESS. The finish is immaculate. This man had treated these drums like a piece of decorative furniture, and you can tell from the look of them.
I drove them home, and took the heads of to inspect the edges. WOW, thats when i knew this guy had never even touched these drums: the tension rods oozed with grease , they had clearly never been removed since they were first installed at the factory. The edges are pristine, and the shells are stamped March 1996.
This may be the very best-preserved example of the rare 4-ply Super Classics that you will find. The sizes are 20/16" kick, 10/9" tom, 11/12" tom, 14/14" tom, 14/5 Supraphonic snare. Everything is all factory original (including the heads), the drums are mint, the chrome is spotless. Here are some pics I snapped since I've had them home:

I bought this kit expecting to play it, knowing that the Super Classics are known as superb-sounding drums and that I love the 20" kick, but I've decided to sell if the right offer presents itself. I'm asking for 1600$ plus shipping for all 5 pieces plus the supraphonic snare, or 1300$ for the kit minus the Supraphonic.
