$700 sounds like a deal. That's my first impression. You'd have to make sure that the shells are period-specific, though. I'd buy the kit and sell the snare for $100.

My second impression is that the bass drum looks too deep to sound good (looks to be at least 14" deep), and the 15" floor tom will be a hassle to get heads for, and from what I hear, tune. Also, I've never come across a 10" drum from the 60s. The only "vintage" ones I've come across have been concert toms from the 70s.

I'd still get it, either way, barring any major issues with the shells or hardware. And, of course, making sure the kit is all 3-ply with re-rings.

Hi, I think i would pass up on that set.to many things are wrong..Ludwig made a 14x18 bass drum,to me the bass drum looks to be 16x18 floor tom that was made into a bass drum, the white paint inside shell looks right for the 60s but could have been painted to look like a 60s drum,,i would look for holes that were filled[floor tom leg mounts] their would be 3 sets of two, also the muffler holes...Ludwig never made a 10" tom in the 60s that i know of..Like i said i would pass on this set..Mikey

Okay...Ludwig made an 18x20.....and I have seen one all original 10 inch keystone gold sparkle tom about 3 months ago. But, Ludiwg never did that with there lugs. I say offer $600 for the problems. It looks legit to me.

The small tom is a converted concert tom, and the "bass drum" is a converted floor tom. Not worth the asking price in my opinion. If it was a real bass drum that wasn't a conversion...maybe....
