Nice kit. My question, however, is always "Where's the snare" when I see these drums for sale. What snares were offered during the brief time that Rogers produced XP8's?

Mike, maple and brass Dynasonics were offered, as well as Supertens. But hardly any maple snares were sold: the metal units were 1000x more popular at the time.

These kits usually came with a Dyna. My theory is that after 2-3 years the owner got tired of fussing with the Dyna, never figuring it out, and it wound up on the shelf. Some tama/pearl/ludwig/etc metal snare replaced it. Over time, the Dyna was sold at a grage sale, traded in or thrown away.

The Rogers kit was eventually replaced by something else, that snare was moved to the new kit, and now the Rogers kit shows up for sale, sans snare.
