1970s Acrolite. Marketed as a student snare, though they are an essential weapon in most serious drummers' arsenals. Same aluminum alloy shell as the 10 lug chrome plated Supraphonic. Can generally be had for around $100, if you keep an eye out.

Nice and clean, with original snares. Original muffler as well. Can't see the strainer but I presume that is the original blackface P85 with 12 holes? Or maybe 2 holes. That's holes where the snare strings attach.
Does it have a date stamp inside by any chance? Look for faint black ink.
That serial number is very early in the Blue/Olive badge numbers. I've got a drum kit which includes 762696 and 763745. Thought to be late 1969 or early 1970 but it's not an exact science.
I'm not sure how that serial number would fetch many more dollars than others (unless it were from me -- to add it to my kit :cool: ). But I do see a very nicely presented drum, and that means higher value.

BTW, what did you pay? Are you looking forward to playing it or making some $ on it? As zenstat said it is super clean with the original snares. It appears to be a premium example of an early blue/olive acrolite.

I think it dates more to 1969 than 70. Great sounding.. best bang for the buck...they are a little rarer with that serial number range.
