Last time Dylan Elise appeared in a thread here, he was the bare chested street performer from New Zealand.. And his ability was questioned by some... Looks like he's now found himself a regular gig...

Cheers

I don't think his ability was ever questioned by anyone, only that they didn't like his style. There is no question the guy can play, but his drumming may not appeal to all.

I was the one who originally posted the Dylan Elise thread. It turned into something else, but my intention was to make other drummers aware of him. Like his style, or not, the kid is an incredibly talented drummer. I studied under Bobby Columby (by proxy) who was the father of Fusion style drumming. I find it amusing that Dylan's band is playing that early old-school fusion stuff from the 60's/70's. It takes really talented musicians to play/cover those tunes and Dylan captures Bobby's drumming style and concept perfectly. I haven't changed my mind about him, I think Dylan Elise has a monster future ahead of him if he can make a name for himself -here- in the USA. The sky is the limit for his kind of talent.

Too many great drums to list here!

Clicking around youtube over the last year or so, looking for drum solos, Dylan Elise was a real standout....which means I bookmarked his clips. Wicked player.
