Light Blue Pearl Slingy's + Question Last viewed: 13 minutes ago

Loading...

Just thought I'd show-off my new Slingerlands (24/16/13 + an 18" floor I'm not currently using). Super clean, and all original 3-ply maple with re-ring's (though I did swap out the front bass legs for some beefier Swingstar legs for stability). Question though, the drums - to the best of my knowledge - are early 70's, but the bass definitely has Radio King t-rods and claws. Are there examples of kits from the late 60's - early 70's with previous era parts like that or has someone swapped them out along the way?

Looks like mid 70s bass - the wing nut does not face the audience and double spurs. The bass Ts are not correct for that bass. The Tom mount is a 70s, as is the bass/Tom mount. The floor leg mounts are late 60s to standard 70s edition. The Tom has a badge. My guess ... someone wanted to add some cool mojo to an already cool 70s bass. Nothing more. No worries, though. It looks very cool.

Cool. That's what I figured. To be honest I'm more of a fan of the Radio King claw/t-rod combo anyway, so win win. Thanks!
