Legend Drums... yeah kinda vintage, maybe. Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Okay, if you squint just right and hold your mouth to the left... I guess you can call them vintage.

At any rate, I picked up a kind of hacked up kit of Legend's the other day. They don't really sound vintage, but they don't sound new-ish either. But boy do those shells sound sweet! It's a 22, 13, 16... I'll post some pix later if anyone cares to see them.

Now, what I do need is either a pair of badges (black series) or a good scan of same. Either will do.

Amazingly, I think I found more information right here on this 'vintage' drum site about these nearly vintage drums than anywhere else on the web. Heck of a site, David, and what a group you've assembled.

This joint is a treasure!

Okay, enough bloviating...

Thanks in advance.

Great sounding set of drums right there! They got replaced by this...

The Legends are keepers, but the '82 Superstars are KEEPERS (for me).

Ryan!

That Yamaha post gives it away, except your pic makes them look brown... or Legend actually did use a Yamaha post at some point. My assumption is that they were all virgins out of the factory.

If those were yours, and you did the trade, you ended up with my blue Crest's? How cool is that if that's what happened! Let me know!

Oh yeah, that Tama is indeed a sweetheart... I've never owned one, but a couple friends have. Excellent drums (in that quality range).

Hey Craig!

The Legends just look brownish in that picture due to stage lighting. It is the same kit. Not sure of the provenance of the Yamaha mount. Great sounding drums, aren't they? BTW, that bass drum is 13X22.

And yep, the Crests are now in my possession. Win/win!

PS - I'm gonna be at the Aronoff clinic on the 26th. Any chance you'll be there? Would like to meet you in person!

Well hello to the blue Crest's! Man, it's great you ended up with those! Those shells are quite nice. Glad to see you put decent heads on 'em as well.

The Legend's are still in the room the Crest kit was in, there towards the back of the shop. Since I'm doing this house remodel Dana let me store a couple other kits there as well...

Yes, I will be at the 'do' Thursday... in fact I'm working it, not sure doing what, but I'll be there.

It'll be great to see you there.
